Register Online for Spring Training

The annual AMLJIA Public Entity Risk Management Seminar is happening this February 22-23, 2012, at the Anchorage Downtown Marriott.  Please join us for this opportunity for representatives of our many diverse communities to come together to share ideas, problem-solve and develop strategies for implementing risk control procedures and programs in your own unique settings.  If you have never attended this conference, or if you have not attended in recent years, we encourage you to join us at the 2012 Public Entity Risk Management Seminar.

Participants in last February’s conference learned how the principles of leverage, strength and balance can help avoid injuries and how to identify and effectively address bullying.  They engaged in some friendly competition to learn about coverages, claims, hazards and hazard abatement.  Guest speakers representing Alaska Division of Fire & Life Safety, Division of Insurance, Homeland Security & Emergency Management, Anchorage School District, Bristol Bay Borough, and the City of Fairbanks shared their expertise with attendees representing over two dozen municipalities, boroughs and school districts.

For those attendees looking for additional training, the OSHA 10-hour general industry course will follow the two-day risk management seminar.  This training includes an introduction to OSHA and overview of employee rights and responsibilities in addition to topics such as Lockout/Tagout, Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Communication and more.

Together we can all become better stewards of our financial and human capital resources.  We hope that you will join us at the 2012 Public Entity Risk Management Seminar on February 22-23, 2012.  The conference is free to AMLJIA members and only $100 for non-members.  Registration is waived for presenters, so please come and share your experience.  You can register online at www.amljia.org.  We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
